Sample answer for describe a successful businessperson you know

I’d like to talk about an accomplished entrepreneur whom I deeply admire, and his name is Yuki. I first had the opportunity to know him when I decided to learn Japanese at his language school in Vietnam, and fortunately, I had the privilege of learning in his class.

Mr. Yuki is more than just a teacher; he’s a highly successful businessperson who has made a significant impact in the field of education. Although he is Japanese, he is incredibly proficient in Vietnamese and possesses a deep understanding of Vietnamese traditions.

He founded a chain of schools dedicated to teaching Japanese in Vietnam and sending Vietnamese students to Japan, with hundreds of teachers and thousands of students. His school is renowned for its Japanese conversation skills.

His success can be attributed to various reasons, but in my opinion, there are three main factors behind his success. Firstly, his dedication plays a significant role. He spends long hours at the school, working tirelessly to ensure that every student receives personalized attention.

Secondly, his management skills are also exceptional. He meticulously planned every aspect of the school’s operations, from curriculum design to teacher training.

Lastly, his ability to speak Vietnamese fluently has played a crucial role in the success of his language school. It immediately creates a sense of connection and trust with his Vietnamese students.

What factors lead to success?

Success is often the result of a combination of factors, including hard work, perseverance, and the ability to learn from failure. If an individual sets a goal and works relentlessly towards that aim, it becomes easier for them to succeed. In addition, perseverance plays an important role in achieving success, as one needs to overcome obstacles and challenges on the road to success. For example, Thomas Edison’s invention of the light bulb was the result of thousands of unsuccessful attempts.

What do people need to sacrifice for success?

To achieve success, individuals often need to sacrifice personal time and comfort. An individual needs to dedicate long hours to work or research, sometimes at the expense of leisure activities or rest. Additionally, success may require the prioritization of long-term goals over immediate gratification. For instance, Olympic athletes often sacrifice their social life and endure rigorous training routines for years, just to excel in their sport and potentially win a medal.

Which is more likely to be successful, family businesses or large corporations?

Though family businesses have advantages like easily adapting to new changing environments and strong values, large enterprises are often more likely to achieve widespread success due to their extensive resources and management systems. These corporations typically have greater access to capital, enabling significant investments in technology, talent, and expansion. For example, Walmart, a large corporation, has achieved remarkable success because of its vast resources and global reach, surpassing many smaller, family-owned businesses in the retail sector.

Is it easy for a business to be successful without affecting the environment?

Achieving business success without impacting the environment is challenging but increasingly possible with modern sustainable practices. Companies must balance profitability with environmental responsibility, often requiring significant investment in green technologies and sustainable processes. For instance, big companies like Apple and Samsung are now changing to a single type of charger, a move aimed at reducing electronic waste

Can you provide some examples of family businesses in your country?

In Vietnam, there are several successful family businesses that have made a significant impact both locally and internationally, such as ABC Bakery, Kido, and Doji. These businesses often start from humble beginnings but have expanded to include thousands of branches. One notable example is the Trung Nguyen Group, a renowned coffee company founded by Dang Le Nguyen Vu. It began as a small family business and has developed into one of the largest coffee brands in Vietnam.

What qualities should be considered when recruiting employees?

When recruiting employees, it’s essential to consider a blend of technical skills and soft skills. Technical skills ensure the employee can perform specific job tasks, while soft skills like communication, teamwork, and adaptability are crucial for a harmonious and effective workplace. For example, in customer service roles, candidates are often selected not only for their knowledge of the product or service but also for their ability to empathize with customers and communicate solutions effectively.
